Since 2003, the Certified Ethical Hacker program, pioneered by International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), has remained the globally accepted standard of achievement among White Hat Hackers and other IT/cyber security professionals having been endorsed by United States Department of Defense as a mandatory certification for all computer network defenders working for it in both permanent and outsource/contract capacity. CEH is ranked among the most sought-after and highest-paying certifications for information/cyber security professionals globally. The qualification is obtained by demonstrating skills in the assessment of the security of computer systems and networks by identifying weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems, using similar knowledge, skills and tools as a malicious hacker to assess the security posture of a target system in a lawful and legitimate manner. Candidates’ knowledge is assessed by answering 125 multiple choice questions on the various ethical hacking techniques, skills and supporting tools. The code for the CEH exam is 312-50.
With the growing demand for ethical hacking and offensive security professionals possessing IT/cyber security skills, CEH has become the certification program of choice for individuals and organizations around the world who are seeking to create value for stakeholders through proactive/preemptive defense and assurance around their most valuable information assets.
